A Palm Springs Holiday

I am luck to be spending

my weekend

in the Beautiful & Hot city

of Palm Springs.

When I think of Palm Springs

I think of when this amazing little city

was the Hot Spot of all the

Hollywood A-List.

The only bummer for me is that I am having

to work while on my mini holiday.

But I am sure going to try my best to

to ENJOY.

We will be visiting the

Blue Pear and the Pool House

so looking forward to it!!!

I heard they are amazing!!!

So for now I am off to enjoy some sun.

Origin of April's Fools Day!!!

The most popular theory about the origin of April Fool’s Day involves
the French calendar reform of the sixteenth century.

The theory goes like this:
In 1564 France reformed its calendar, moving the start of the year from the end of March to January 1. Those who failed to keep up with the change, who stubbornly clung to the old calendar system and continued to celebrate the New Year during the week that fell between March 25th and April 1st, had jokes played on them. Pranksters would surreptitiously stick paper fish to their backs. The victims of this prank were thus called Poisson d’Avril, or April Fish—which, to this day, remains the French term for April Fools—and so the tradition was born.

Elizabeth Taylor in Jane Eyre

In anticipation of the latest adaptation of ‘Jane Eyre’, my daughter and I thought we should watch one of the first films. My Ari looked through Netflix and chose the 1943 version starring Orson Wells and Joan Fontaine. And there, to our surprise, in early scenes of Jane Eyre’s sad childhood at Lowood School, was the most beautiful little girl. My daughter asked, Who is that beautiful girl? It was Elizabeth Taylor!!! Ms. Taylor must have been about 10 years old. She play the part of Jane’s friend Helen Burns. Her scenes are few but each time she’s on the screen, she out shines her young co-star Peggy Ann Garner. In 1943, Taylor had already appeared in two movies, her next would be ‘National Velvet,’ which would make her a true star. And in those few scenes in ‘Jane Eyre,’ Taylor proved she was indeed a "TRUE STAR".

2 oz. HPNOTIQ
1 oz. limoncello
1 oz. Champagne
Splash of lime juice

Rim the Champagne flute with a light coat of sugar. Pour chilled HPNOTIQ, limoncello, and Champagne into the champagne flute. Add a splash of lime juice.
